Thriver Screw-In Calf Teat
The Thriver Screw-In Calf Teat is the result of rigorous development, combining in-field trials and engineering expertise to solve common feeding challenges. We tested multiple teat geometries and valve designs to create a Calf Teat that optimises milk flow, prevents leakage, and provides a natural feeding experience for calves of all ages. Through careful attention to how calves feed and what rearers need, we’ve developed a teat that improves efficiency while reducing the risks of choking and milk backflow.
Thriver Screw-In Calf Teats feature a subtle concave shape in the cut region, which, together with our soft and strong rubber formulation improves the cut’s leak resistance.
We also refined the spray pattern to prevent milk from flowing directly down the calf’s throat, reducing the risk of choking and improving feeding comfort by directing milk to the top and bottom of the mouth.
The dual-material valve combines a soft lilac duck bill for effective sealing with a durable citrus-coloured retainer, ensuring reliable performance and preventing backflow.
“Since using the new Thriver Calf Teat, there has been zero leaking, which keeps the pens cleaner and dryer. The calves stay on them and like them, eliminating any hassle of getting them on and off. The softer teat is more natural and makes it easier to teach new calves to drink, yet it remains strong enough for calves up to weaning. The teats are durable and do not split at the ends, ensuring consistent milk flow for longer periods. We rear approximately 1000 calves and calve four times a year, so having long-lasting teats is crucial for our system.”
