The recruitment process at Skellerup

What you can expect from us:

Whether you have applied through an agency or direct with us, if we seek to progress with your application you’ll typically receive a phone call to introduce the role in more detail and undertake a brief telephone interview to help us understand more about your experience and your expectations.

Interview

  • We’ll advise if you have progressed to a face to face interview or not. Interviews are a great way to find out how we could work together and to make sure the role is a good fit for your experience and ways of working. 
  • We’ll ask you a range of questions about your work experience, any relevant qualifications, as well as your working style and what type of teams you feel you work best with. Be prepared to talk about your past experience, what you’ve learned along the way and what goals you might have for your career in the future.
  • An interview is a two way conversion; think about what questions you have for us about the role, the team you would be working with and anything else relevant to you.
  • Sometimes a second interview or other form of assessment may be required as part of the recruitment process. We’ll let you know in advance so you can prepare for future interviews or assessments such as what you need to do or to bring with you.

Final steps

  • We’ll contact you as soon as possible regarding the outcome of the interview.
  • We typically request two references, these must be from people who worked closely with you and can talk to your skills and ways of working such as someone you reported directly to. Most of our roles require completion of a pre-employment medical assessment and alcohol/drug screening. We seek permission before doing these assessments.
  • If your role is dependent on having a qualification we’ll ask you to provide evidence of the necessary qualification.
  • If you’re the successful candidate, we’ll send you a written offer including all the details of the job to review and accept.
  • From there, you’ll start your journey at Skellerup with an induction to working here. Congratulations and welcome on board!
