The Carbon Vane Vacuum Pump is an innovative alternative to the standard Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump. This pump type requires no lubrication and maintenance is limited to the occasional replacement of the carbon vanes. Suited to smaller operations, the Carbon Vane Vacuum Pump is used in dairy sheds where portability and low maintenance is required. These pumps are commonly used on bucket and mobile milker installations.
The vanes themselves are made from bonded carbon graphite, which are thrown outwards against the cylinder by centrifugal force when the motor starts. The vane compound acts as both the seal and the lubricant for the pump.
The Skellerup range of Carbon Vane Vacuum Pumps operates between 140 and 250 litres per minute of free air at 50 kPa (15’Hg).
Skellerup specialises in providing complete vacuum system solutions to meet specific customer needs and to complement the broad range of milking technologies employed in the global dairy farming industry.
